The Fiji Police Force rugby team has received significant support from Shop N Save supermarket as they gear up for the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl Challenge. This marks the third consecutive year that the locally-owned supermarket has sponsored the Police Blues as they prepare to defend their title against the Republic of Fiji Military Forces on November 8 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
George Brown, a security consultant for Shop N Save, presented the sponsorship and commended the police officers for their contributions to the community and nation-building efforts. Assistant Commissioner of Police and Rugby President Mesake Waqa expressed gratitude for the ongoing support, stating that the sponsorship will help sustain the team’s logistics.
Waqa emphasized the importance of the match, acknowledging the rivalry between the two forces. “We are not underestimating our opponents,” he said. “This is an event that both forces look forward to and we aim to showcase our best.” He mentioned that the military side is likely to be motivated to reclaim the bowl, especially after their recent defeat in the Escott Shield.
