The Fiji Police Force rugby team is gearing up for a fierce competition as they aim to defend the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl. During a recent visit by Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew and the leadership team, the players were encouraged to give their all in the upcoming match.
According to a statement from the Fiji Police Force, the Police Rugby president, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mesake Waqa, expressed a strong commitment from the players and officials to protect their title not just for the organization, but for their families and supporters as well. The Shop N Save Police Blues rugby team is set to compete on Saturday, November 9, at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva against the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF).
Waqa noted that while the Acting Commissioner emphasized humility, it’s important to acknowledge that both teams are intensively prepared for victory. As the Fiji Police Force celebrates its 150th Anniversary, they are determined to field the best rugby team possible, representing their community, past and present officers alike.
Acknowledging the challenge ahead, Waqa expressed good wishes for the RFMF and encouraged supporters to attend and cheer for their teams as the tournament kicks off with boxing competitions next Tuesday.
This match not only reflects the spirit of competition but also the camaraderie between the forces, enhancing community ties through sport. It’s a time for unity and mutual support, celebrating the legacy and dedication of both teams.
