The Fiji Police Force rugby team is gearing up to fiercely defend the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl this year. During a recent visit to their camp in Nadi, Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew, along with the command group, emphasized the importance of this match to the team.
In a message shared on their Facebook page, Police Rugby president, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mesake Waqa, highlighted the commitment from players and officials to give their all in defending the title for their organization, families, and supporters. The Shop N Save Police Blues are feeling confident as they prepare for the prestigious match, set to take place on Saturday, November 9, at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, where they will face the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF).
Waqa conveyed the Acting Commissioner’s words on humility, recognizing that both teams will enter the competition with the same goal: victory. He acknowledged the tough challenge posed by the RFMF, who are equally motivated to win the match.
As the Fiji Police Force celebrates its 150th Anniversary, the focus is on assembling the best rugby team possible, representing not just the organization but also their families and the legacy of past and present officers. Waqa expressed appreciation for the support from fans, encouraging them to come out and cheer for their teams across various sports competitions.
The annual tournament kicks off next Tuesday with the boxing events, setting the stage for an exciting week of athletic competition.
This match and the surrounding events are not just about rivalry but also an opportunity to foster community spirit and pride in both teams, making the upcoming clash a highly anticipated occasion.
