The Fiji Police Force rugby team is gearing up for a fierce battle to retain the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl, which is set to take place on Saturday, November 9, at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. This was emphasized during a recent visit by Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew and members of the command group to the team’s camp in Nadi.

According to a post on the Fiji Police Force’s Facebook page, Police Rugby president, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mesake Waqa, stated that both players and officials are committed to giving their all in defending the title for the organization and its supporters. The Shop N Save Police Blues rugby team is entering this competition with high hopes.

Waqa highlighted that the Acting Commissioner’s message to the team revolved around humility, noting that every contender enters the competition ready to win. He acknowledged that, just as the Police team is determined to hold onto their title, the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) will also be equally eager for victory.

As the Fiji Police Force celebrates its 150th Anniversary, the focus is on excellence and preparing the best rugby team to honor their families, friends, and past officers. Waqa expressed awareness of the challenges ahead, wishing the RFMF well while looking forward to the competitive encounter. He encouraged all Police supporters to come out and cheer for their teams in various sports.

The annual tournament will commence next Tuesday with boxing matches, marking an exciting week of competition.

This year’s tournament not only highlights the spirit of competition but also celebrates the legacy of the Fiji Police Force, creating a sense of unity and pride among supporters. The anticipation surrounding the event provides an excellent opportunity for community engagement and support for local sports.
