The Fiji Police Force rugby team is gearing up for a fierce battle to retain the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl title this year. During a recent visit by the Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew, along with other members of the command group, the team’s commitment to defend their championship was emphasized.
As expressed by Police Rugby President, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mesake Waqa, the players and officials are resolved to put everything on the line for their organization, families, and supporters. The Shop N Save Police Blues rugby team is filled with high spirits as they prepare for the showdown against the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) on Saturday, November 9, at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
Waqa highlighted that the Acting Commissioner’s message was centered on humility, reminding the team that while they are eager to defend their title, the RFMF will also be fully committed to achieving victory. With the Fiji Police Force celebrating its 150th Anniversary, the focus remains on assembling the best team possible, honoring past and present officers.
The team acknowledges the challenge ahead and extends best wishes to the RFMF, recognizing their determination to win. Waqa encouraged supporters of the Police Force to attend and cheer for the teams across various sports as they compete. The tournament will kick off next Tuesday with boxing matches.
In summary, the Fiji Police rugby team is not only focused on retaining their title but also on embodying the spirit of teamwork and community support, making their participation much more than just a game. The prospect of an exciting competition ahead is something for all fans to look forward to.
