Fiji Police Promote Peaceful Solutions Amid Domestic Incident

The Fiji Police Force is encouraging citizens to resolve their conflicts peacefully, avoiding drastic actions that may jeopardize their safety and well-being. This message follows an incident that occurred early in the morning along the Suva foreshore, near the Fiji Police Academy, where an officer intervened in a domestic situation.

According to police reports, the duty officer at the academy overheard a couple arguing around 3 am and went to investigate. Upon arrival, the officer found a woman, who appeared to be intoxicated, attempting to harm herself. He intervened to help her partner bring her back safely to land and assisted the couple in addressing their issues.

The police also reminded the public that alcohol is not a solution to problems and that excessive drinking can intensify unresolved conflicts, potentially leading to severe consequences, including harm or even death.
