The Fiji Police Force has taken a significant step towards rebuilding public trust and confidence in its operations by launching a 24-hour dedicated call center at the Fiji Police Headquarters. This new initiative is designed to enhance communication between the police and the community, allowing citizens to share information or report crimes more effectively.

Members of the public can easily reach out to the police by calling the toll-free number 1681. Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu emphasized that this dedicated call center is crucial for reporting any issues related to police service delivery, sharing tips, or reporting criminal activities.

Tudravu encourages the community to take advantage of this accessibility, stating that all issues regarding police services, officer conduct, crime reports, or information sharing should be directed through this call center. The information gathered will be promptly forwarded to the relevant Directors and Divisional Commanders for immediate action, ensuring a swift response.

This initiative also aims to consolidate information through an official channel, enabling shift supervisors to direct operations efficiently. This streamlined process is expected to lead to improved response times and more effective feedback, addressing previous complaints about the organization’s responsiveness.

The Commissioner is urging the public to utilize this new platform confidently, assuring that all reports made through the official channel will be thoroughly investigated. This proactive approach marks a hopeful new chapter for community engagement with the Fiji Police, promising a more responsive and transparent policing service.
