The Fiji Police Force recently held a dedication service at the Suva Civic Centre in preparation for the upcoming 2024 Ratu Sukuna Tournament and festive season operations. Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew emphasized the importance of unity among the policing family, describing the service as a moment for seeking divine guidance as they gear up for two significant events in the coming weeks.

Chew highlighted the necessity of coming together, likening it to strategic planning before an important operation, underscoring the goal of achieving success not only in the tournament but also in ensuring community safety during the festive season. He expressed best wishes to all participating teams and acknowledged the sacrifices made by their families in support of their police duties.

In a show of collaboration, the Fiji Police Force extended its gratitude to the Australian Federal Police for their continuing support of the #88blues campaign. Senior representatives from the AFP, including Superintendent Adrian Morton and Detective Inspector Paul Everingham, participated in the service. During the event, the Force Chaplain, Assistant Superintendent of Police Joeli Mawi, blessed the sporting kits for the teams.

The tournament kicks off on Tuesday with boxing competitions, culminating in the main rugby match between the Shop & Save Police Blues and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces scheduled for Saturday, November 9 at the HFC Stadium in Suva.

This dedication service not only fosters unity and teamwork within the police force but also serves as a reminder of their commitment to community safety and support during the holiday season. As the Fiji Police Force prepares for these events, this collective spirit may enhance not only their performance in the tournament but also their ability to ensure a safe environment for all.

In summary, the Fiji Police Force is rallying its members for the Ratu Sukuna Tournament, focusing on both competition and community safety, with the support of international partners and the unwavering dedication of their families.
