The Fiji Police Force has issued a warning to the public against the use of laser lights aimed at aircraft, emphasizing the potential danger to the lives of passengers and crew members. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations, Livai Driu, made this announcement after a meeting with civil aviation authorities, where concerns about the intentional misuse of laser pointers near airports were discussed. ACP Driu highlighted the serious risks involved in pointing laser lights at planes and urged anyone witnessing such behavior to report it to their local police station by calling 917 or to Crime Stoppers at 919.
