Fiji Police Issues Urgent Warning on Laser Light Dangers to Aircraft

The Fiji Police Force is urging the public to refrain from pointing laser lights at aircraft, as this poses a significant risk to the safety of everyone on board. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu made this statement after discussions with civil aviation authorities earlier today.

ACP Driu expressed serious concerns regarding the intentional misuse of laser pointers in the vicinity of airports. He emphasized that directing laser beams at planes endangers all passengers and crew. The police are encouraging anyone who witnesses this hazardous activity to report it by contacting their local police station, dialing 917, or reaching out to Crime Stoppers at 919.
