The Fiji Police Force is currently investigating claims made by UK sex workers Bonnie Blue and Annie Knight regarding their presence in Fiji. Reports suggest that the two were reportedly barred from entering Australia and are now under scrutiny by the police in Fiji because of allegations that they intended to provide free sexual services to 18-year-old boys during Australia’s ‘schoolies’ celebration.
Assistant Commissioner of Police – Crime, Mesake Waqa, stated that the Crime Intel and Cybercrime Unit has been tasked with verifying these claims. Despite the concerns, both Blue and Knight have apparently shared photos of themselves on a beach in Fiji, with Blue hinting at her location through posts on Instagram.
The controversy intensified when Blue allegedly expressed her intention on Instagram to travel to the Gold Coast for the schoolies event, offering sexual services to young men in exchange for allowing her to record the activities for her OnlyFans account. Subsequently, Australian officials reportedly canceled Blue’s 12-month visitor visa after she mentioned plans that would involve paid work, in violation of her visa terms.
As the Fijian authorities continue to look into the matter, it remains unclear how this situation will develop.
While this situation presents a serious issue regarding legality and ethics, it also opens discussions about the responsibilities of social media influencers and the implications of their actions. This investigation underlines the importance of cooperation between international authorities in handling cases that cross borders, and it serves as a reminder for individuals about the need for awareness regarding the legal frameworks in different countries. Ultimately, there is an opportunity for positive dialogue about the regulation of services offered online and the protection of young people during celebratory events.
