Fiji Police Intensify Drug Raids Ahead of Holiday Surge

The Fiji Police Force is intensifying its drug enforcement efforts in preparation for the increased movement of people due to school holidays, festivals, meetings, and conferences.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu has issued a warning to those involved in the illegal drug trade, stating that they will face consequences for their actions. He noted that police are conducting raids on farms, having recently made significant discoveries in Kadavu and conducted arrests related to the unlawful possession of drugs.

ACP Driu is encouraging the public to report any information that may assist in combating the issues surrounding illicit drugs by contacting them through the number 917 or via Crime Stoppers at 919.

Additionally, the Fiji Police’s K9 units are enhanced by the support of the New Zealand Police through the Fiji Police Partnership Programme, which improves the capabilities of Fiji’s Dog Patrol and works in collaboration with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.
