Fiji Police Intensify Drug Operations Ahead of Holiday Surge

The Fiji Police Force is intensifying its drug enforcement operations ahead of the school holidays, festivals, and various gatherings. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, has issued a stern warning to individuals engaged in the illegal drug trade, stating that they will be apprehended.

ACP Driu highlighted ongoing efforts, including raids on farms, with notable findings recently reported in Kadavu, alongside multiple arrests for possession of illegal drugs. He urged the community to provide any information through the hotline 917 or Crime Stoppers at 919 to aid in combating the issue of illicit drugs.

Additionally, the police have enhanced their K9 capabilities with support from the New Zealand Police through the Fiji Police Partnership Programme, which strengthens the operational effectiveness of the Dog Patrol in collaboration with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.
