Fiji Police Intensify Drug Crackdown Ahead of Holidays

The Fiji Police Force is intensifying its drug enforcement efforts as the school holidays, festivals, meetings, and conferences are expected to increase public movement.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu has issued a warning to those engaged in the illegal drug trade, emphasizing that they will be apprehended.

ACP Driu remarked that police are also conducting raids on farms and have recently made significant finds in Kadavu, leading to arrests for illegal drug possession.

He urged the public to report any information related to drug activities via the hotline 917 or through Crime Stoppers at 919 to help mitigate the dangers posed by illicit drugs.

Additionally, the K9 unit, supported by the New Zealand Police through the Fiji Police Partnership Programme, is enhancing the capabilities of the Fiji Police’s Dog Patrol, in collaboration with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.
