Fiji Police Intensify Drug Crackdown Ahead of Holiday Spike

The Fiji Police Force is intensifying its drug operations in response to the expected increase in public activity during the school holidays, festivals, meetings, and conferences.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu has issued a warning to individuals involved in illegal drug trafficking that they will face consequences. ACP Driu noted that police are conducting raids on farms, highlighting recent discoveries in Kadavu and arrests related to the unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

He urged the public to contribute information to help combat the drug issue, encouraging them to contact authorities through 917 or Crime Stoppers at 919.

Additionally, the Fiji Police’s K9 units are receiving support from New Zealand Police as part of the Fiji Police Partnership Programme, which enhances their Dog Patrol capabilities in collaboration with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.
