Fiji Police Heighten Drug Operations Ahead of Busy Holiday Season

The Fiji Police Force is intensifying its drug enforcement efforts in preparation for the increased movement of people during the upcoming school holidays, festivals, meetings, and conferences.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu has issued a warning to those involved in the illegal drug trade, stating that they will be apprehended. ACP Driu highlighted that police are conducting raids on farms, with some recent discoveries made in Kadavu, along with several arrests for unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

He urged the public to report any information they may have, either through hotline 917 or Crime Stoppers at 919, to help mitigate the dangers posed by illicit drugs.

Additionally, the K9 units of the Fiji Police are receiving support from the New Zealand Police through the Fiji Police Partnership Programme, which enhances the dog patrol capabilities of the Fiji Police in collaboration with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.
