Fiji Police Force Poised for Leadership Shift as Commissioner Applications Close Tomorrow

The application period for the role of Commissioner of Police in Fiji will close tomorrow, signaling an important transition for the Fiji Police Force as a new leader is set to be appointed soon.

This change follows a year of interim leadership under Acting Police Commissioner Juki Fong Chew, who has been in the position since the suspension of former Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho. Although Chew will not be applying for the permanent role, he remains hopeful about the future of the Fiji Police Force. He expressed confidence that the upcoming appointment will bring positive transformations and enhance the institution.

“The closing is tomorrow, that is the last day of the month of September. I leave it to the process and let it take its course, and we will get to know who is the successful applicant,” Chew stated.

The final selection of the new Commissioner will be made by the Constitutional Offices Commission, which will conduct a thorough evaluation of all applicants.
