The Fiji Police Force gathered at the Suva Civic Center for a dedication service in preparation for the upcoming 2024 Ratu Sukuna Tournament and the festive season operations. Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew emphasized that this gathering serves as a moment for the police community to unite and seek blessings for the significant events ahead.
Chew described the service as a vital synchronization effort, akin to preparing for a battle, with the aim of ensuring everyone is aligned and working towards victory in the tournament. He stressed the importance of not only focusing on winning the Ratu Sukuna campaign but also ensuring a safe and enjoyable festive season for everyone in the community.
During the event, the Fiji Police Force expressed gratitude towards the Australian Federal Police for their continued support of the #88blues campaign, especially in providing logistical assistance. AFP representatives, including Senior Pacific Liaison Officer Superintendent Adrian Morton, participated in the service where sporting kits for all teams were blessed by Force Chaplain Assistant Superintendent of Police Joeli Mawi.
The 2024 Ratu Sukuna tournament is set to kick off on Tuesday with the boxing competition, leading up to the highly anticipated rugby match between the Shop & Save Police Blues and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces on Saturday, November 9, at the HFC Stadium in Suva.
This event not only aims to foster camaraderie within the police force but also highlights the importance of community safety and support during the festive season. It reflects a positive spirit of cooperation and shared purpose as the Fiji Police Force prepares to serve their community during this busy period.
Overall, the dedication service marks the beginning of a proactive approach to ensure both the tournament and the festive season are conducted seamlessly, with the hope of building stronger bonds within the community and promoting safety for all.
