The Fiji Police Force soccer team successfully defended their title in the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl Football Challenge, dominating the Army team with an impressive 6-1 victory at HFC Bank Stadium in rainy conditions. From the outset, the Police squad, bolstered by numerous district and national players, showcased their dominance.

In an engaging first half, the defending champions took the lead 1-0, thanks to power striker Sairusi Nalaubu, who was later named man of the match. Nalaubu left a significant mark on the game, scoring a second goal in the second half, while his teammate, Ratu Apenisa Anare, also contributed with two goals for the team.

The Army managed to break through with a consolation goal from forward Salacieli Dakunaibuca in the later stages of the match, generating hopes of a potential comeback among the fans. However, Dakunaibuca’s moment of triumph quickly turned sour as he was shown a straight red card shortly after for unsportsmanlike behavior.

In the concluding minutes, Police players Tevita Warainaivalu and Ilisoni Lolaivalu each added to the score, solidifying their victory.

This thrilling match not only showcased the skill and teamwork of the Fiji Police Force but also highlighted their continued excellence in local football. Their impressive performance serves as an inspiration for aspiring players and fans alike, reflecting the vibrant sporting spirit in Fiji.

In summary, the Fiji Police Force set a high bar in the Ratu Sukuna Bowl, and as they celebrate their victory, the excitement for future matches and rivalries in Fijian soccer continues to build.
