The Fiji Police Force is launching a recall initiative for retired or resigned officers aged 30 to 60 in an effort to reinforce its workforce for project staff roles. Key positions that need filling include assistant superintendents, inspectors, sergeants, and corporals.
To qualify, applicants should have previously served in the police force, maintaining specified criteria such as a minimum of 15 years of service with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and completion of the Level 2 CID course, with preference given to those who have also undertaken Level 3 advanced training. Importantly, candidates must not be under any criminal investigation and must provide a medical certificate confirming their physical and mental fitness.
Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu emphasized that this recall aims to mitigate skill shortages and improve the handling of complex investigations. This initiative is part of the police force’s broader goal of enhancing operational effectiveness and ensuring community safety standards are upheld.
