Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu emphasized that these measures are essential for the safety of all Fijians and to safeguard the Central Business Area of Nadi. The aim is also to protect properties from potential opportunist activities.
Driu highlighted that police standby teams have started evacuating residents from disaster-affected areas and will remain on alert throughout the night. The Fiji Police Force is committed to actively monitoring the situation in the flooded regions of the Western Division.
