The Fiji Police Force has reported that swift action by a Police Dog Unit on a patrol in Lautoka led to the arrest of a man suspected in a theft case on the previous day.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu stated that K9 officers were patrolling Drasa Avenue when they encountered an incident involving a woman whose mobile phone had been stolen.

The officers promptly tracked down the suspect, a 25-year-old man, and successfully recovered the stolen phone.

According to ACP Driu, the suspect, who is already known to law enforcement, is currently in custody at the Lautoka Police Station as investigations are ongoing.
