A routine patrol by the Fiji Police Detector Dog Unit (FDDU) in Kinoya resulted in the arrest of two suspects in a drug-related incident yesterday. The police became suspicious after observing a man acting erratically while conversing with another individual in a vehicle.
Upon investigating further, officers searched the man and uncovered bullets containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana. This led to a subsequent search of the suspect’s home, where more bullets of dried leaves were found, confirming the initial suspicion of drug possession.
A woman present at the residence was also arrested in connection with the illicit substances. Both suspects are currently in custody, and the seized materials have been sent for analysis to determine their exact nature. The investigation is ongoing as authorities aim to uncover more details surrounding the case.
This event highlights the proactive measures being taken by the Fiji Police in tackling drug-related issues within the community. The swift response of the officers not only led to arrests but also demonstrates their commitment to maintaining public safety.
