Fiji Police Crack Down on Marijuana Trade: Key Arrest Made

The Fiji Police Force has announced the arrest of a man suspected of involvement in the sale and distribution of marijuana following a raid by the Serious Organised Crime and Intelligence Department in the Southern Division. The operation took place yesterday in Caubati, where police apprehended a 40-year-old male during the search.

During the raid, authorities uncovered several dried branches and leaves believed to be marijuana, wrapped in foil. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, emphasized the Fiji Police Force’s commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks as part of their Counter Narcotics Framework.

The suspect is currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing. Police are encouraging the public to report any information related to drug-related activities through Crimestoppers by calling 919 or 917.
