Fiji Police Crack Down on Marijuana Farms: Shocking Discoveries Revealed!

The Fiji Police Force has reported a series of farm raids across Lau, Savusavu, and Ovalau, leading to the confiscation of plants thought to be marijuana within the last 24 hours.

Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations, Livai Driu, emphasized that these operations are part of a broader strategy to disrupt the drug supply chain by targeting both cultivators and distributors of illegal substances.

During the raid in Mavana on Vanuabalavu, Lau, authorities uncovered a farm containing plants believed to be marijuana. In Ovalau, more than 300 marijuana plants were seized, alongside groceries that are suspected to have been stolen from a school canteen. A man has been detained in connection with this discovery.

In the Northern Division, ACP Driu reported that the Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence teams, along with officers from Savusavu, executed a raid near Lea village, resulting in the seizure of over 600 marijuana plants, dried branches, and seedlings. A 20-year-old farmer was arrested during this operation.

In the Southern Division, a raid conducted by the Serious Organised Crime Unit and task force in Tacirua led to the confiscation of dried branches and small packages containing cannabis leaves. A 43-year-old man has been taken into police custody.

All substances that were seized have been forwarded for analysis.
