Fiji Police Crack Down on Marijuana Farms: Over 2000 Plants Seized!

The Fiji Police Force has announced two significant operations carried out by the Western Division Serious Organised Crime Intelligence Department (SOCID) in the Malua range of Navosa. These operations resulted in the confiscation of over 2,000 plants suspected to be marijuana.

Following tips regarding marijuana cultivation in the area, a specialized police team made their way through the challenging terrain to locate the suspected farms. The team spent a night in the highlands to prepare for their raid, which ultimately led to the discovery of over 1,800 plants at one site and more than 900 plants at another. The seized plants varied in height from 10 centimeters to 2.5 meters.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu emphasized the importance of this seizure, noting that it represents a key step in their ongoing mission to disrupt illegal drug supply chains. He highlighted that numerous arrests have been made in recent weeks, with suspects facing charges in court. ACP Driu praised the collaboration that facilitated both the recent successes and earlier operations.
