Police officers are being reminded of their critical role in combating drug supply, with the Fiji Police Force firmly opposing any attempts by those involved in the drug trade to undermine their efforts. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, emphasized this message following the arrest of a 31-year-old man in Caubati. The suspect was apprehended after clear plastic bags containing white crystals—believed to be methamphetamine—and dried leaves suspected to be marijuana were found. During the arrest, the individual allegedly attempted to bribe a police officer. ACP Driu assured the public that should any reports of police misconduct arise, appropriate disciplinary actions and legal proceedings will be enacted.
