Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced plans to meet with President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu to address the recent High Court ruling that was issued today. Rabuka indicated that he intends to finalize an appointment before their meeting tomorrow.
During a scheduled Cabinet meeting set for the morning, the Prime Minister confirmed that he would bring up this matter for discussion. “We are having a Cabinet meeting tomorrow, and yes, I’ll mention it in Cabinet, and also the People’s Alliance Management Committee in the afternoon,” he stated when questioned by The Fiji Times.
Rabuka highlighted that he has already prepared the agenda and anticipates that discussions following the Cabinet meeting will center around the “possible outcomes of today’s court ruling.” Furthermore, he noted that the Government is contemplating an appeal regarding the judgment.
This proactive approach underscores the government’s commitment to addressing legal matters effectively and ensuring that all avenues are explored in response to court decisions. The upcoming discussions may pave the way for meaningful decisions on the matter at hand.
