Fiji Players Shine in Solomon Islands Friendly Showdown

Six players based in Fiji have been selected for the Solomon Islands in the FIFA Tri-Nations International Friendlies taking place this week in Suva and Lautoka. The squad includes three players from Rewa: Stanton Alick, John Orobulu, and Leon Kofana, as well as Labasa’s Tigi Molea and Navua’s Ali Mekawir and Jared Rongosulia, making a total of 24 members.

Adding further strength to the team are Micah Le’alafa and Raphael Le’ai, both currently residing in Australia, who are looking to make a strong impact after missing the OFC Nations Cup. Notable names from the Fijian football community also feature in the lineup, including William Komasi, who represented Nadi and Nadroga, and Marlon Tahioa, who has played for Labasa, Nasinu, and Suva. Other players include Atkin Kaua from Nasinu and Rewa, Carlos Limosia from Tailevu Naitasiri, former Lautoka striker Joses Nawo, and ex-Rewa attacker Alwin Hou.

The opening match of the Series is set to take place in Suva tonight, where the Solomon Islands will face host Fiji at the HFC Bank Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 7 PM.
