Fiji Pine launches 2025 health outreach program

Fiji Pine’s Vital Health Initiative: Uniting Communities for a Healthier Future

Fiji Pine Group has continued its commitment to community health by launching its 2025 outreach program in Nadroga. The initiative is aimed at engaging landowning units and local communities to raise awareness about health and wellbeing.

During the event in Nabau, health officials from Sigatoka and Lomawai health centres, along with Fiji Police officers, provided crucial insights on improving health awareness. Approximately 150 participants from various landowning units, including Emuri, Nalele, Vavunaqiri, Kabisi, and Nalele, took part in the program, which is designed to enhance access to healthcare services, empower community members, and reduce preventable diseases.

One of the key topics addressed was the alarming drug problem in Nadroga, identified as a red zone for increasing substance abuse in the country. Police urged attendees to raise awareness in their communities and assist law enforcement by reporting cases of abuse.

Health discussions covered vital subjects including HIV and AIDS, cervical cancer, substance abuse, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and communicable diseases. Fiji Pine’s outreach initiative reflects a strategic commitment to fostering strong relationships with landowning units and communities while addressing pressing health issues.

Last year, similar outreach events held in Ba, Ra, Macuata, and Bua effectively engaged local communities and provided medical assistance, including tooth extractions and referrals for further treatment. Looking ahead, Fiji Pine plans to host more health outreach events in regions such as Navosa, Bua, Macuata, Ra, and Lautoka throughout the year.

This proactive approach not only helps communities gain better access to health services but also fosters a spirit of cooperation and awareness that can lead to improved health outcomes for all.
