Fiji Pine Group has made a significant step towards sustainability by signing a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the iTaukei Trust Fund Board and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). This strategic partnership is designed to enhance renewable energy initiatives and bolster community development across Fiji.

The MOU outlines a vision to create meaningful opportunities for iTaukei and Rotuman communities by focusing on skill development and promoting sustainable growth. This initiative reinforces Fiji’s ongoing commitment to transitioning towards clean energy solutions.

During the signing ceremony, Fiji Pine Group Executive Chairman Ratu Rakuita Vakalalabure highlighted the importance of land resources and industry expertise in crafting reliable and clean energy systems. Meanwhile, Norbert Maass, the GGGI’s Country Representative for Fiji and Kiribati, underscored the critical nature of such green growth partnerships in achieving long-term sustainability.

This collaboration paves the way for several renewable energy projects, investment in innovative clean technologies, and enables local communities to take charge of and reap benefits from energy strategies.
