Fiji Pine Group of Companies has firmly rejected recent allegations circulating on social media regarding unpaid land lease rentals in Bua. Executive Chair Ratu Rakuita Vakalalabure responded directly to claims made by Australia-based creator Suliasi Daunitutu, asserting that all land rental payments are current and fully up to date.
Addressing ongoing confusion, Ratu Rakuita clarified that while Fiji Pine Limited has declared a dividend for the financial year 2024, the distribution of these dividends does not occur directly to individual landowners. Instead, the Fiji Pine Trust is responsible for managing these payments. The Trust collects dividends from Fiji Pine Limited and subsequently distributes them to the respective landowning units.
To mitigate concerns and enhance transparency, Ratu Rakuita noted that the Trust engages in regular consultations with its beneficiaries. He encouraged landowners to reach out to their Trust representatives for any inquiries they may have regarding the rental payments or dividend distribution.
This proactive communication from Fiji Pine highlights their commitment to transparency and maintaining a positive relationship with local landowners, reinforcing the importance of open dialogue in addressing community concerns.
