The process of finding a new coach for the Fiji Pearls netball team is set to commence next week. The former coach, Unaisi Rokoura, who previously played for Netball Fiji, has completed her contract, and her tenure has come to a close.

Netball Fiji president RubyAnn Sorovaki has announced that the initial stage of recruitment has been finalized, with interviews for the coaching position commencing shortly. Notably, the candidates vying for this influential role are said to be overseas coaches, which could bring fresh perspectives to the team.

Rokoura, who took on the coaching role in 2021, made history by guiding the Pearls to qualify for the World Cup in 2022 during the Oceania Qualifier held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva. She also took the team to the 2023 World Cup in Cape Town, where they achieved an 11th place finish.

The transition in coaching brings an opportunity for the Fiji Pearls to build on their recent accomplishments and potentially elevate their performance on the global stage. It’s an exciting time for the team and their supporters as they look forward to new leadership that could foster further growth and success in the sport.

In summary, the Fiji Pearls are entering a new chapter as they seek a new coach, and the upcoming interviews promise to be an important step in enhancing the team’s future prospects.
