Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), has commenced his tour of the Middle East by visiting Fijian troops stationed with the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the Golan Heights. During the visit, he was given a ceremonial Guard of Honour and engaged in discussions with UNDOF Force Commander Major General Anita Asmah, who lauded the discipline and professionalism displayed by the Fiji Battalion over the last two months.
The Fijian battalion, under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Isireli Dugu, is executing its responsibilities under the UN mission, demonstrating commitment to international peace and security. Major General Kalouniwai, while addressing the troops, emphasized their crucial role in global peacekeeping efforts, which not only reflects positively on the RFMF but also on Fiji as a nation.
