The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) has confirmed that all Fijian soldiers currently deployed in the Middle East are safe and accounted for, amid rising tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. RFMF Commander Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai reassured the public that none of the Fijian troops have been directly impacted by the recent conflict.

In his statement, Major General Kalouniwai indicated that security assessments suggest hostilities remain limited to specific operational targets, well beyond the locations of Fijian forces. He emphasized that there are no confirmed threats aimed at any of their contingents.

The RFMF is actively monitoring the evolving situation through official intelligence channels and is enforcing stringent protection measures to ensure the safety of all personnel deployed abroad. Families of the soldiers and the general public are encouraged to remain calm and to rely exclusively on official updates from the RFMF for accurate information.

Fijian troops are engaged in various peacekeeping missions in the region, including serving with the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in Syria and the Multinational Force & Observers in Egypt/Sinai. The RFMF’s proactive approach and commitment to safeguarding their deployed personnel reflects a responsible stance in the face of uncertain geopolitical dynamics.
