Fifteen police officers have recently returned home after successfully completing their deployments with three United Nations peacekeeping missions. Among them, thirteen officers served in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, while one officer was part of the Multinational Force and Observers, and another participated in the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei.

The returning officers were officially welcomed back during a reception hosted by Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu. Senior Superintendent of Police Ulaiasi Ravula, who oversees the Department of International Relations, commended the officers for their professionalism, dedication, and the exemplary service they provided while representing Fiji on the international stage.

As they reintegrate into local law enforcement, the officers will participate in a Post Deployment Reintegration Program. This initiative is aimed at facilitating their transition back into their community-focused policing roles and is set to conclude on January 22, 2026.

This welcoming gesture not only recognizes the contributions of these officers but also highlights the commitment of Fijian police to international peacekeeping efforts and the importance of supporting their reintegration. Their experience abroad will undoubtedly enrich local policing practices and strengthen community relations.
