The Fijian government has initiated recruitment for positions within the newly formed Counter Narcotics Bureau (CNB), offering a variety of roles with salaries ranging from approximately $39,000 to nearly $98,000. This recruitment effort is part of a broader strategy led by the Ministry of Policing and Communications aimed at enhancing Fiji’s response to drug trafficking, organized crime, and transnational threats.

The available positions encompass a range of fields, including senior management, intelligence, investigations, operations, finance, human resources, communications, and information management. Most of these roles will be based in Suva, the capital city.

The Director General of the CNB will receive a salary between $82,000 and $98,000, while the Deputy Director General will earn a salary ranging from $75,000 to $89,000. The government emphasizes that all applicants must possess good character, demonstrate adherence to the core values of honesty and integrity, and have a clear police record. Additionally, applicants must be Fijian citizens under the age of 60 and in good health.

The recruitment process will adhere to the Public Service Commission Open Merit Recruitment and Selection Guidelines, ensuring a fair and thorough selection process. The establishment of the CNB is a crucial milestone in strengthening law enforcement capabilities in Fiji, as the nation seeks to combat the growing challenge posed by illicit drugs and related criminal activity, offering a hopeful outlook for improved public safety and security.
