During a recent appearance on the Bula FM Morning Show, Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro announced that last year saw 225,000 students enrolled in schools, while 205,000 applications for the current year have been submitted thus far. The Minister indicated that the application window is still open, as some parents have reported delays in submitting their paperwork.

Minister Radrodro emphasized that eligibility for the $200 Back-to-School Grant is limited to families earning below the $50,000 salary threshold. He reassured applicants that all submissions will undergo thorough vetting processes to ensure that grants are allocated according to established eligibility criteria. He encouraged parents to approach the application process with honesty and transparency.

The Minister also stressed the importance of parental involvement in their children’s education, noting that some parents only enroll their children at the start of the school year to qualify for the grant, without subsequently monitoring their children’s educational progress. This highlights the need for sustained engagement in the educational journey.

The disbursement of the $200 Back-to-School Grant is set to commence on January 16, providing much-needed financial assistance to families as they prepare for the upcoming school year. This grant aims to ease the financial burden on families and support students’ educational needs.
