A severe weather warning has been issued for the Fiji Islands as heavy rain is expected to impact the area. According to the Nadi Weather Office, an active trough of low pressure is approaching from the north and is predicted to bring occasional heavy rain and thunderstorms, with the most intense conditions anticipated in the northern regions. This adverse weather is expected to spread throughout Fiji by tomorrow.

Residents are cautioned that heavy localized rainfall may result in flash flooding, particularly in low-lying areas. The forecast also indicates that isolated thunderstorms may occur in the southern and interior sections of Viti Levu. Areas at risk include Sigatoka, the interior of Nadroga-Navosa, Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Naitasiri, southern Bua, and Cakaudrove.
