Seventy-five members of the Fiji-New Zealand Business Council (FNZBC) marked a significant milestone during a breakfast forum in Lami, featuring key speakers Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica, along with Immigration Minister Viliame Naupoto. James Trusler, the FNZBC president, celebrated the event as a notable success, highlighting its record attendance as they aim to grow their membership to 200.

Trusler expressed gratitude for the participation of both ministers, who provided valuable insights on government initiatives that could bolster business opportunities in Fiji. He stated, “This breakfast forum is part of our mission to achieve a $2 billion trade target between Fiji and New Zealand by 2030.” With this goal in mind, Trusler invited businesses nationwide to consider joining the council, emphasizing that collaboration is vital in reaching their ambitious aims.

This forum is part of a broader trend of fostering trade relationships in the Pacific, similar to previous gatherings like the Fiji-Australia Business Forum, which also demonstrated the collaborative spirit among neighboring nations. These events create networking opportunities for businesses to engage with government plans and support each other in economic growth initiatives.

As Fiji and New Zealand strengthen their economic ties through platforms like the FNZBC, the focus on shared goals is a promising sign for future trade expansion. The council continues to encourage local businesses to engage, indicating a commitment to mutual growth and prosperity in the region.
