The Arya Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji is advocating for unity, harmony, and peace as the nation welcomes the New Year. In a statement, Sabha Patron Pandit Bhuvan Dutt highlighted that the New Year symbolizes a time for reflection and renewal, urging communities to collaborate in fostering respect, understanding, and togetherness in everyday interactions.

Dutt stressed the significance of honoring cultural values, particularly in a constantly evolving world, and emphasized the necessity of educating young individuals about their heritage. He noted that instilling good values is fundamental to developing strong and respectful communities, reinforcing that a deep appreciation for culture shapes behavior, encourages discipline, and fosters a sense of identity.

“We believe that prayer and effort go hand in hand. To do anything good, we need to put in effort. And we must always remember that the Creator Lord is with us at all times,” Dutt stated, inspiring individuals to remain dedicated to their aspirations.

In addition, he called on families, community leaders, and organizations to actively promote fundamental values such as compassion, honesty, and service to others, recognizing their essential role in community building.

Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou of the Methodist Church in Fiji echoed these sentiments, affirming the importance of prioritizing faith in order to uplift the country in the coming year. Both religious leaders emphasized that daily acts of unity, respect, and service are key to nurturing stronger communities and cultivating stability within the nation.

As Fiji steps into the New Year, the collective call for cultural appreciation and moral responsibility serves as a hopeful reminder of the power of community cohesion to foster a brighter future for all.
