In a remarkable initiative aimed at improving educational access for students in remote regions, the Fiji National University (FNU) outreach team has successfully concluded an application drive in the Kadavu and Lomaiviti Groups. This effort reflects FNU’s dedication to overcoming geographical barriers to education, which has been warmly welcomed by local educators.

Koro High School teacher Semisi Caucau expressed his gratitude for FNU’s initiative, highlighting how the support provided during the application process has enabled students to confidently pursue their dreams. He emphasized the significant impact of FNU’s efforts on the community and eagerly anticipated future collaborations that would continue to benefit students.

The outreach campaign featured informative sessions at various schools, including Vunisea Secondary School, Richmond High School, and Levuka Public School. During these sessions, FNU representatives engaged with Year 12 and Year 13 students, offering valuable insights into various academic programs and assisting them with their application requirements.

Acting outreach manager Vijayta Sharma noted the enthusiasm of the students, particularly at Vunisea, where students were eager to learn how FNU’s programs aligned with their career aspirations. The palpable excitement among Year 13 students demonstrated their commitment to exploring options for the upcoming academic year.

Additionally, at Gau Secondary School, Year 13 students dedicated their Saturday to meet with FNU staff and complete their application forms, illustrating their dedication to planning their futures effectively. The outreach campaign culminated at Levuka Public School, where the team successfully addressed student inquiries and facilitated the final steps of the application process.

This outreach effort not only provided essential academic information but also reinforced FNU’s commitment to empowering local students and strengthening ties with the community.
