Fiji National University has partnered with Swire Shipping Fijian Drua for their 2024 Open Day, which encourages Fijians to “Dream It, Weave It, Achieve It.”

The event at the Nasinu Campus will include opportunities to engage with Fijian Drua players, such as Philip Baselala and Simione Kuruvoli, along with Vani Arei, the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s Player of the Year.

Attendees will learn about the players’ journeys and experiences. FNU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba, noted that the event would help participants connect with the Drua team and illustrate how dreams can be realized.

“The Drua players have demonstrated that hard work, teamwork, and perseverance can overcome any challenge. They serve as an inspiration for Fijians to chase their dreams and tackle obstacles directly,” she said.

Professor Nabobo-Baba added that just as the Drua blends their talents on the field, FNU integrates knowledge, skills, and opportunities to support students in reaching their full potential.

Drua CEO Mark Evans and well-known Strength and Conditioning Coach Naca Cawanibuka will also speak at the event, sharing valuable insights into the team’s journey on Friday, October 4.
