The Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) has announced a significant leadership change within its board, as Executive Chairman Akuila Masi has stepped down from his position effective immediately. In light of this transition, Deputy Chairman DC Rajesh Singh will step in as Acting Chairman, following the governance protocols established by the organization.
The FNRL has stated that a new chairman will be appointed during the upcoming scheduled board meeting, ensuring a structured process continues during this change. Masi emphasized the critical need for stability and collaboration throughout this transitional period and urged stakeholders to rally behind the Acting Chairman as the FNRL progresses with its reform initiatives aimed at bolstering its operations.
Furthermore, the FNRL reassured stakeholders that this leadership change will not disrupt any currently ongoing business, programs, competitions, or engagements. Masi expressed gratitude towards the staff, partners, and stakeholders for their support throughout his tenure, affirming his belief in the organization’s continued positive trajectory.
All operational responsibilities will remain under the management of FNRL and the Acting Chairman, adhering to the organization’s established governance framework. This change reflects FNRL’s commitment to maintaining momentum in their ongoing projects and initiatives, fostering an environment of continuity despite leadership shifts.
