Dr. Sivendra Michael, the Permanent Secretary for Climate Change and Environment, has announced that these initiatives are nearing completion and aim to foster sustainable waste management practices across the country.
Dr. Michael highlighted the importance of the Container Deposits Regulations in reducing plastic waste, advocating for increased recycling, and promoting responsible environmental behaviors among citizens. He underscored that Fiji has already made progress by implementing 13 out of the 17 Climate Change Acts, indicating a strong commitment to addressing environmental challenges holistically.
