The Ministry of Health and Medical Services has announced the passing of its Permanent Secretary, Dr. Jemesa Tudravu, who died on Saturday, December 27, 2025, after traditional protocols were completed. Dr. Tudravu dedicated over 30 years to Fiji’s health sector, leaving behind a legacy of leadership and commitment.

He embarked on his professional journey as an Orthopaedic Surgeon, following specialized training at Newcastle Hospital in Australia. Dr. Tudravu held significant positions such as Medical Superintendent at Lautoka Hospital and the Colonial War Memorial Hospital. His career further advanced as he took on roles as Chief Medical Advisor and Acting Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services, culminating in his official appointment as Permanent Secretary in February 2024.

Colleagues remember him for his humility, integrity, commitment, and compassion in serving the community. The Ministry extends its heartfelt condolences to Dr. Tudravu’s family, friends, and colleagues, acknowledging the profound impact he had on countless lives throughout his extensive career. His contributions to the health sector will be honored and remembered as a testament to his dedication to the well-being of the people of Fiji.
