The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Engineers Regiment has successfully completed substantial renovations to the Boys’ Dormitory at Nadogo Central College located in Vanua Levu. Captain Viliame Tagiveitaua, the Officer Commanding the 2nd Combat Engineer Squadron, officially presented the upgraded facility to Head of School Ms. Ranadiniceva Raluna during a handover ceremony.

A dedicated team of 10 personnel worked diligently on the project, which included extensive repairs such as fixing damaged furniture, plumbing, and electrical systems. Improvements also encompassed enhancing ventilation, ultimately aiming to foster a safer and more hygienic living environment for the students.

This renovation was made possible through a generous grant of $27,000 from the Ministry of Education, demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting educational infrastructure in the region. Such initiatives reflect the military’s pledge to community development and enhancing the welfare of students across Fiji.

Similar initiatives have recently been noted in Fiji, such as the renovation of dormitories at Ratu Kadavulevu School funded by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These projects highlight the importance of collaboration between various sectors in uplifting educational facilities and providing better living conditions for students.

Overall, the RFMF’s commitment to enhancing educational environments is a positive step towards the nation’s development and showcases the potential for collaborative efforts in improving facilities for young learners. As these projects continue, they pave the way for a brighter future for Fiji’s youth.
