The Team Fiji men’s rugby sevens team received a warm welcome at their training base in Libourne, France, earlier this week.
Mayor of Libourne Philippe Buisson expressed his pride and honor in hosting the defending Olympic gold medalists in sevens rugby.
“I thank the Fiji team for promoting the values of this sport to our young people,” Buisson stated.
The team, coached by Osea Kolinisau, will train in Libourne before moving to the Games Village as the men’s sevens competition at the Paris Olympic Games begins on July 24.
The competition will pause on July 26 for the official opening of the Olympic Games, with finals resuming on July 27.
Today, the Fiji men’s rugby sevens team will spend an hour with the public at the Moueix Stadium.
