Fiji Men’s Rugby Sevens Team Prepares for Olympic Defense in France

The Team Fiji men’s rugby sevens team received a warm welcome at their training base in Libourne, France, earlier this week.

Philippe Buisson, the Mayor of Libourne, expressed his pride and honor in welcoming the defending Olympic Games gold medal champions in sevens rugby to the city.

“I thank the Fiji team for promoting the values of this sport to our young people,” Buisson stated.

The team, coached by Osea Kolinisau, will remain in Libourne before heading to the Games Village as the men’s sevens competition at the Paris Olympic Games begins on July 24.

The competition will pause on July 26 for the official opening of the Olympic Games, with the finals set to commence on July 27.

Today, the Fiji men’s rugby sevens team will be engaging with the public for an hour at the Moueix Stadium.
