Netball Fiji has announced the final roster of 12 players who will represent the Fiji Men’s Netball Team at the Singapore Men’s Nations Cup, taking place from December 2-8. Head coach Jioweli Vakamoce highlighted that the selection process was rigorous, focusing on various attributes including individual capabilities, overall performance, attitude, training attendance, teamwork, on-court skills, and leadership qualities.
In preparation for the tournament, Coach Vakamoce reported that the team has been diligently training, even conducting a skill training session on a public holiday, demonstrating their commitment with early morning practices from 7 am to 10 am. He noted that they are entering the final phase of their preparation, which includes full games every Saturday following activation and abs training, along with increased weight workouts at the gym to enhance their physical capabilities.
Vivian Koster, the CEO of Netball Fiji, expressed her enthusiasm for the men’s program’s growth and encouraged fans to rally behind the team as they aim to leave their mark internationally.
The member list for the Fiji Men’s Netball Team includes: Kitione Waqavonovono (Captain), Vilive Wainidroa (Vice-Captain), Amena Nacavaraba, Josefata CatiJoseva Nawaqa, Rarawa Vulimainarita, Atonio Lovokuro, Poasa Vulaono, Savenaca Sorovaki, Sireli Tuidrakim, Atonio Bakaniceva, and Nacanieli Goneyali.
